Language: English Description: Following the 1988 AKA National Convention in Chicago, an impromptu meeting of fighter kite fliers was called to discuss formalizing competition standards. Guidelines were developed which eventually evolved into this manual. We present it to you here in the hope that contestants and event coordinators will benefit from a published set of rules.
AKA competitions have generally tended to focus on line contact contests. However, to encourage diversity and promote safety, we have developed guidelines for a number of different competitions including Precision and even the new Freestyle event. We look forward to seeing these rules evolve and new categories added.
