Language: English Description: To date, we have depended upon the dynamic and generous efforts of a relatively few strong individuals to hold things together. Their continuing efforts are to be applauded. However, the scope of kiting is rapidly becoming too broad for that dependence to continue. With the exception of a few outstanding examples, kite clubs across North America are isolated and lack a sense of "community" with one another. In generating information for this handbook, I was struck by how very little I knew about other clubs and how little other people seem to know about other clubs. I believe that a strong "community" of local clubs, large and small, who are engaged in an active system of sharing, feedback, support, and cooperation would be a good thing for kiting.
