Bob is the authority on Maori kites of New Zealand. His book Te Manu Tukutuku: The Maori Kite gives insight into the long and interesting history of kites in the Maori culture. Tracing the kites of indigenous cultures of the Pacific may lead to more knowledge of the true origin of the kite and a logical case can already be made that these sea-faring cultures were the first with kites.
