Father of miniature kites in the US, Sotich brought model-aircraft techniques to small kites. With Japan’s Nobuhiko Yoshizumi and Holland’s Harm Van Veen, Sotich helped launch the International Friends of Small Kites (IFOSK). Sotich uses paper and bamboo, but also is adept at making his own super-thin maylar sails for lightweight carbon-fiber creations.
