Notable Mexican artist Toledo has taken to the idea of kites as art. He has made and promoted kites in his Papel Taller, a paper-making and art operation in Oaxaca, Mexico. He has also collaborated to produce three spectacular kite exhibitions, held in Oaxaca, Puebla, and Pachuca, Mexico. His own kites replicate designs from his childhood and serve as inspiration to preserve the kite traditions of Mexico.
