Language: English Description: Kite pin collecting, otherwise known as cloisonne mania, has swept the American kite world in the last few years. The origin of the craze is obscure ("hard to pin down," in a manner of speaking). but the consequences are apparent for all to observe: kite hats and jackets festooned with the brightly colored little pins that show off beautiful kites, commemorate festivals, advertise shops and individual kitemakers and generally make a statement to the world that kites are wonderful.
Drachen Design, Inc. originally produced these biographical sketches to accompany an exhibit of all the kitemakers' pins. This booklet, produced by The Drachen Foundation, brings together this diverse group of kitemakers in order to inspire and inform the public of their work.
