Fragment from 'Cody's Tree' at Farnborough. Pine tree. Vacuum preserved and coated with resin 1953, 1954. This tree became a monument at the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough to Cody's pioneering work: when the tree itself died, it was replaced by a reproduction on a plinth.
