3 images. A) Very large box King Kite. Cody standing on upper longeron, holding Royal Ensign flag. Another concurrent photo as 256, 783 (but not in this collection) shows Cody steadying himself with the flag and with arm outstretched. On the back is hand written "5 18 minutes later. The King Kite mounted. My position will give you an idea of the strength of this Kite" The underscored 5 indicates the number sequence of this paper image (which was very faded when originally copied). This is similar to 8) showing rideiness or strength...The No.1 or King Kite which is the largest in the world haviing a spred of 675 squar feet of canvess. in Journal A .. S F Cody's Aroplaine...etc. Possibly Leeds as similar tree line as in 255 but could be Worcester with Major Trollope in January 1902. Same as 256, 784.
