Summay:

Rectangular box kite with white wings about 8ft tall, 3 ft wide cells but 2 ft deep in black with white edging; bowed box cross bracing. This kite has a Topknot in the form of a sail suspended between the wings and attached to the longerons just aft of the front cell. This is to stop the kite 'topping' or overflying; it is likely that this kite was used as a pilot. This kite may have been the pilot to the "Queen Alexandra" kite so will be referred to as the "Queen Alexandra Pilot". Small Rhomboidal winged box with nose sail (see 259). Kites standing upright. Kite winch and line reel. Cody and assistant. Winter (frosty ground). Possibly Leeds or Worcester during winter of 1901/2
