2 images. A) Winged rhomboidal box (with nose sail) being hand flown by Cody. Very likely to be Newcastle as this kite was used for man-lifting there at Town Moor in August 1902. see also 264, 270A, 270B, 677 B) Cody holding Richard (of Paris) vaned anemometer (see also 279, 280) standing next to kite winch carriage. Similar picture dated December 1901 wearing same clothes. Cody said 'my son said he could make a better kite than I could so we started in opposition' Illustrated Mail paper, December 28th 1901.
