Summay:
Very large, probably 30 ft high box King Kite with Cody in front wearing cowboy clothes. Top sail of box is braced by lacing webbing, also intercell lacing. This is likely to be description 1) The inventor and his latest toy..the Cody aroplaine.... in Journal A .. S F Cody's Aroplaine...etc. Probably Bury St. Edmonds but could be Leeds as photo appears in Illustrated Mail December 28th 1901. Photo appears in The Flying Cathedral by Gould Lee, page 113 dated as 1901and Kites Pelham on page 50 where it is dated 1900. Same as 255, 779, 783. Part of sequence of photos that include 035, 044, 096, 177, 184, 253, 254, 255, 256, 261, 262, 384, 442, 509, 695, 753, 754, 756, 757, 779, 783, 784, 797. Poor quality image.
