Rear 4 o'clock view of S F Cody leading soldiers who are hauling back Black Carrier kite with kingposts ready for long launch.. Black Kite with white edge banding. Summer as Cody is in shirtsleeves and flying field has long grass. Caption (written much later) reads "S F Cody's Man Lifting Kite As Used By The Royal Engineers 1905 to 1908". Other related images show early kite winch so the date is likely to be much closer to 1905.
