Two very large box King Kites with Cody standing on upper longeron and holding Royal Ensign flag. There is another photograph, but not calalogued in this collection, that shows Cody steadying himself with the flag and with arm outstretched. This photograph was taken at the same time as 783 and has the following written on the back "5 18 minutes later. The King Kite mounted. My position will give you an idea of the strength of this Kite" The underscored 5 indicates the number sequence of this paper image (which was very faded when originally copied). This is similar to description 8) showing rideiness or strength...The No.1 or King Kite which is the largest in the world haviing a spred of 675 squar feet of canvess. in.Journal A .. S F Cody's Aroplaine...etc. Probably Bury St. Edmonds but could be Leeds as similar tree line as in 256 but could be Worcester with Major Trollope in January 1902. Same as 256, 784.
