Photo caption in "Report on Experiments with Kites" gives "No.2 Carrier Kite showing correct position to hold whilst on ground". Very large Extended wing War Kites at HMS Excellent. Reference is made to No.2 17 ft kites which refer to one of these and which was noted to be wider than the ship from which it was to be flown. Note that the sticks are tied off on ends of upper sails. Group including 036, 037, 081, 087, 095, 180, 181, 183, 199, 202, 208, 212, 213, 231, 234, 242, 244, 386, 408, 420, 430, 431, 452, 453, 454, 456, 459, 464, 465, 491, 518, 669, 694, 736.
