A wonderful experience for any kiteflier or tourist, the Desert Kite Festival takes place annually in the Rajasthan region of India. The Festival introduces international kite enthusiasts to the amazing beauty and cultural diversity of India. Participants got to fly their kites at historical places, meet the Maharaja of Jodhpur, enjoy authentic Indian meals and entertainment, compete in (or just enjoy watching) the exciting Fighter Kite Competition and travel to incredible tourist sites in complete safety and security. On Makar Sankranti (14th January), the annual fighter kite celebration day in Jaipur, the kiting experience fills any kite-flyer’s heart with amazement and glee – literally thousands of kites in the skies over Jaipur!
