Focus:
Students create a realistic drawing of a bird flying, employing the drawing techniques of cross hatching and diverse line qualities to suggest feathered textures.
Curriculum Integration:
Developed and tested in conjunction with a local school and a visual arts consultant, this lesson plan was designed to integrate Washington State visual arts learning standards with a kite making activity. With specific targets, criteria and instructions, this lesson creatively teaches art learning standards.
